Job summary

Department of Education Victoria – Colac VIC is seeking a classroom teacher to deliver engaging lessons, plan and assess student learning, and contribute to school improvement with a focus on literacy and numeracy growth.

The role involves planning, preparation and teaching of programs, participating in school activities, and supporting a welcoming, inclusive learning environment for diverse students across the Colac Secondary College community.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience planning and delivering high-impact teaching strategies.
• Ability to monitor learning and use data to inform practice and feedback to students/parents.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with students, parents and staff.
• Commitment to professional learning and reflective practice.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individual students.
• Contribute to curriculum development and program evaluation.
• Engage in school activities, meetings, camps and excursions.
• Support policies, priorities and school improvement efforts.
• Undertake non-teaching duties as required by the principal.
