Job summary

Mercure Resort on the Gold Coast seeks a Duty Technician Supervisor to oversee maintenance across 292 rooms, pools and public areas. You will support the Chief Engineer, coordinate a team of four Handypersons and ensure facilities run smoothly while upholding Accor standards.

Ideal candidates bring HVAC knowledge, strong maintenance experience, and a guest-focused service mindset with excellent communication. Weekend and after-hours flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising maintenance operations (ideally 2 years+)
• Strong technical knowledge of plant & equipment maintenance
• HVAC qualification and experience highly regarded
• Knowledge of hotel building services & maintenance
• Guest-focused mindset with excellent service standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; HUB OS & Opera Cloud advantageous
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to lead a small team and foster positive culture
• Safety-first mindset and knowledge of Safe Work Practices
• Flexibility including weekends and after-hours

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems
• Monitor contractor activities and compliance with Accor standards
• Monitor utility consumption and identify opportunities for energy conservation
• Support rostering and staff training requirements

Where you'll be working

As Duty Technician Supervisor at Mercure Resort, there is variety in every day. Working across the 292 guest rooms, 2 sparkling pools, recreation areas, the restaurant, conference spaces, lobby and reception, kitchens, and back of house spaces. You'll support the Chief Engineer and maintenance team to ensure all resort facilities and guest areas are running smoothly.
