Job summary

Birrong Sports Club in Sydney is seeking a dynamic Duty Manager to lead day-to-day operations, champion service excellence and ensure compliance across gaming, bar, and functions.

Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will coach teams, manage guest inquiries, oversee cash handling and reporting, and help deliver events while upholding safety standards.

This role suits an ambitious hospitality leader who thrives on fast-paced environments and is available for evenings, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Duty Manager, Supervisor, or Team Leader within clubs, pubs, gaming or hospitality environments.
• Current RSA and RCG Competency Cards.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and develop high-performing teams.
• Strong operational knowledge across gaming, food & beverage and venue operations.
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution and customer service skills.
• Experience managing compliance, cash handling and daily venue reporting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and confidence to make decisions independently.
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Current First Aid Certificate is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire teams across gaming, bar, food & beverage, functions and venue operations.
• Champion exceptional customer service and confidently manage escalated guest enquiries.
• Coach, mentor and develop team members to achieve high performance standards.
• Ensure compliance with RSA, RCG, WHS and Club operating procedures.
• Maintain outstanding presentation, safety and operational standards across the venue.
• Oversee cash handling, reconciliations, incident management and shift reporting.
• Assist with rostering, stock control, security and venue maintenance requirements.
• Support the successful delivery of functions, promotions and special events.
• Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
