The Albatross Bay Resort in Weipa is seeking a reliable Duty Manager to oversee daily operations, lead a busy team, and ensure guests have an exceptional experience.

You will manage front‑of‑house activities across the venue, mentor staff, and act as the main point of contact for guests while ensuring safety and compliance. The role requires flexibility to work nights and weekends.

• Oversee daily front-of-house operations across the Sports Bar, Bistro, TAB, Keno and Gaming lounge.
• Mentor, motivate and develop staff, fostering a community-focused, team‑oriented culture.
• Serve as the primary guest contact, address inquiries and resolve floor issues.
• Manage rostering, stock control and daily operations to keep things running smoothly.
• Uphold health, safety and liquor and gaming compliance.

The Albatross Bay Resort is located on the stunning west coast of Cape York Peninsula. It is a fast-paced, customer-focused hotel in the heart of Weipa, we feature a Sports Bar, Bistro, TAB, Keno, and Pokie facilities. The Role

We are seeking a reliable, experienced, hands‑on Duty Manager to join our team. In this role, you will oversee daily operations, mentor a tight‑knit team, and ensure our guests enjoy an exceptional experience.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead with Impact: Oversee daily front‑of‑house operations across the Sports Bar, Bistro, TAB, Keno, and Gaming lounge.
• Inspire Your Team: Motivate, mentor, and develop staff, maintaining a culture of community, teamwork, and inclusiveness.
• Elevate Guest Experiences: Act as the primary point of contact for guests, smoothly handling inquiries and resolving floor issues.

Manage staff rostering, stock control, and daily operations to keep things running smoothly.

• Champion Safety & ComplianceUphold all health, safety, and liquor and gaming requirements.

What We’re Looking For:

• Proven leadership experience in a busy pub environment.
• A positive attitude with the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for exceptional customer service.
• Flexibility to work a hospitality roster including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
• Solid understanding of cash handling, stock control, and hotel operations.

Mandatory Licences & Qualifications:

• Current QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
• Current QLD Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG)
• QLD Responsible Management of Licensed Venues (RMLV) & Approved Managers License
• First Aid Certificate, Forklift Licence highly regarded
