Job summary

genU is seeking caring Domestic Service Assistants to provide essential in-home support to older community members across Colac, Warrnambool, Camperdown and Terang. This casual role offers structured weekday shifts and a chance to contribute to meaningful outcomes within a not-for-profit organisation.

You’ll help with light household tasks, meal preparation, and companionship, ensuring a safe and comfortable living environment while upholding genU’s values-driven approach.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or Community Services.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check, Orientation Module Certificate and Working with Children Check are required.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification is required.
• Current driver's licence and a reliable registered vehicle with insurance.

What you’ll do

As a Domestic Service Assistant, you’ll help people feel comfortable and supported in their own homes by providing:

• Light household cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
• Friendly support and companionship to brighten their day

What you’ll bring

• Strong communication skills and a reliable, professional approach
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Orientation Module Certificate and Working with Children Check – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification
• Current driver’s licence, reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance, and a mobile phone
• Basic computer skills for required admin tasks
• Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or Community Services
• Experience supporting people who are ageing, living with disability, or experiencing mental illness, including those with specific health needs (e.g. Dementia, Diabetes, Epilepsy) and from diverse cultural backgrounds (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally and linguistically diverse groups)
