Job summary

genU in Bunbury is seeking an energetic Support Worker to help people with disabilities and those requiring mental health support during the transition from hospital to home.

This role involves supporting living skills, personal care, medication administration, and following behaviour support plans, with a focus on safety and respect. You’ll work as part of a team that values diversity and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting customers with behavioural support plans.
• Experience working with challenging behaviours is essential.
• Passion for working with people with disabilities.
• Able to manage complex situations with patience and maturity.
• Experience with manual handling and medication administration.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and work to achieve them.
• Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration.
• Ensure Positive Behaviour Support plans are followed.
• Administration duties and mandatory reporting.
• Uphold safety and accessibility standards in all duties.

Hey you!

genU is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Support Worker to join the team. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities and requiring mental health support, as they make the transition from hospital to home.

This one is a bit unique, it requires someone who is up for a dip, and is comfortable swimming with customers!

• Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them;
• Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting and medication administration;
• Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
• Administration duties and mandatory reporting

What you’ll bring

• Extensive experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans;
• Extensive experience working with challenging behaviours- essential;
• An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities;
• Ability to manage complex or difficult situations as they arise with patience and maturity;
• Previous experience with manual handling and medication administration;
• Significant personal or Willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties experience;
• Cert III Individual Support or higher (or working towards one)
• A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).
• (You’ll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate – but don’t worry, we’ll help guide you through this.)
