Job summary

genU is seeking passionate Disability Support Workers to join our Hobart region team, delivering personal care, community access, and person-centred supports that empower clients to live independently and achieve personal goals.

You’ll work mornings, days and evenings on a casual basis, bringing compassion, respect and reliability to daily living activities, medication administration, and records in line with plan guidelines. Training and development are provided.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Disability or Certificate III or higher in Individual Support/Aged Care/Community Services or similar.
• Current First Aid Level 2 and CPR Certificate.
• HLTAAP001 Recognising Healthy Body Systems.
• HLTHPS006 Assist Clients with Medication.
• Current Working with Vulnerable Peoples Check with NDIS endorsement.
• Police check(s) if required. (NDIS Worker Screening Check and Orientation Module Certificate required)

Responsibilities

• Assist clients in undertaking a range of activities of daily living including medication, personal & self-care, food preparation & mealtime assistance, dressing & maintenance of personal hygiene
• Promote development and maintenance of independent living skills
• Receipt and maintenance of written records in accordance with guidelines including- medical records, health and safety concerns, notes on behaviours as per support plan
• Undertake physical household tasks with clients participating where possible

Education

Certificate IV in Disability or Certificate III or higher in Individual Support/Aged Care/Community Services or similar

We are looking for Disability Support Workers who have a vailability and flexibility to work morning, day and evening shifts.
