Job summary

genU is seeking Casual Support Workers in Bunbury to help customers with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement. You will support person-centred plans, join customers in the community, and assist with daily living tasks while driving customer outings where needed.

The role requires availability 2-3 weekdays, ability to do early starts and late finishes, and a valid driver's licence. Certificate III in ID or similar is expected; experience with complex behaviours is

• Qualifications: Certificate III in Individual Support or Disability or higher.
• Willingness to assist with personal care and daily living tasks.
• Driver's licence required or willingness to use private vehicle.
• Experience with behavioural support plans desirable.
• Willingness to work 2–3 weekdays per week, 2–5 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

• Support customers with life goals and person-centred plans.
• Join customers in the community for activities and outings; driving may be required.
• Assist with daily living tasks: meals, hygiene, medication, appointments.
• Ensure adherence to positive behaviour support plans and report as needed.
• Perform administration and mandatory reporting.

genU is looking for Casual Support Workers who can team up with our customers to help them unleash their full potential. You will be making a real impact by helping people with disabilities through accommodation and community engagement.

Please apply if you:

• Have availability 2-3 weekdays per week (excluding weekends)
• Willing to work 2 - 5 hour shifts
• Can do early starts and late finishes

What you’ll do

• Support person-centred plans that identify a customer’s life goals and working to achieve them
• Join customers in the community and do recreational activities, willing to drive vans and take customers swimming advantageous
• Support customers in daily living skills such as meal preparation, housekeeping, showering and toileting, medication administration and attending appointments
• Ensure positive behaviour support plans are followed; and
• Administration duties and mandatory reporting

What you’ll bring

• Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
• Able to work Overnight Sleep Shifts (advantageous)
• Personal experience or willingness to assist with personal care and domestic duties experience
• Extensive experience in supporting customers with behavioural support plans (desirable)
• Extensive experience working with challenging behaviours (desirable)
• Ability to follow Person Centred plans and assist people to achieve their goals and outcomes
• An understanding and enthusiasm for working alongside people with disabilities
• A valid drivers licence and willingness to use your private vehicle (aligned with genU motor vehicle allowance rebate).
