Job summary

Pedare invites applications for Diverse Learning Assistants to provide direct and timely specialist support to students with additional learning needs across the Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. Reporting to the Diverse Learning Coordinator, the DLA will focus on learners facing barriers and those needing enrichment.

Qualifications

• Assist with development of programs for diverse learners in consultation with the Diverse Learning Coordinator, Heads of School and classroom teachers.
• Implement and review learning programs under direction of the Diverse Learning Coordinator and staff.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support to students needing learning support or enrichment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of appropriate programs for students in consultation with the Diverse Learning Coordinator, Heads of School and classroom teachers
• Implement and review programs under the direction of the Diverse Learning Coordinator, Heads of School and classroom teachers
• Under the direction of the Diverse Learning Coordinator, provide one-to-one or small group support for students who require learning support or enrichment (either in the classroom or during withdrawal from classroom)
• Ability to collaborate with other Pedare staff
• Ability to relate well to students, recognising both the pastoral and educative aspects of the student-teacher relationship
• Maintain an interest in the welfare of students and promote the wellbeing of students
• Some out of hours may be required due to role requirements
