Job summary

Pedare Christian College is seeking Diverse Learning Assistants to provide targeted support for students with additional learning needs across Junior, Middle and Senior Schools. Roles include 0.6–1.0 FTE, with 12-month contracts and a 32.75 hr/week option, reporting to the Diverse Learning Coordinator.

Only internal applicants currently employed at Pedare will be considered. Successful candidates will collaborate with staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans and monitor

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with additional learning and support needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of appropriate programs for students in consultation with the Diverse Learning Coordinator, Heads of School and classroom teachers.
• Implement and review programs under the direction of the Diverse Learning Coordinator, Heads of School and classroom teachers.
• Provide one-to-one or small group support for students who require learning support or enrichment (in-class or withdrawal from class).
• Collaborate with other Pedare staff and relate well to students, balancing pastoral and educative roles.
• Maintain welfare focus and be available for out-of-hours tasks as required.
