Job summary

Pedare invites applications for a 12-month, 0.7 FTE role in the Junior School to provide direct and timely support to students with autism and additional learning needs. You will work with classroom teachers to implement targeted strategies, including social stories and sensory plans, to help students engage and thrive.

Qualifications

• Current South Australian WWCC required.
• RRHAN certificate required.
• First Aid & CPR certificate preferred.
• Allied Health Assistant background (OT or Psychology) encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, specialist support to students with autism in Junior School.
• Engage with students in class, in small groups, 1:1 and in the yard.
• Co-develop social stories, social scripts, play plans, and break schedules; monitor implementation.
• Implement sensory regulation strategies and access to sensory tools.
• Maintain thorough records of adjustments per disability data requirements.
• Assist the Diverse Learning Coordinator with planning and administrative needs for accommodations.
• Model and reinforce positive behaviour support and promote inclusion.
