Job summary

Uniting NSW.ACT is seeking a compassionate Case Worker to support homeowners and individuals affected by natural disasters in the Northern Rivers region. You will help clients navigate the Resilient Homes Program and provide practical, person-centred guidance throughout their recovery journey.

This full-time role requires a Diploma in Community Services, at least 2 years in community services, and current NSW driver licence and WWCC.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Community Services or related discipline.
• At least 2 years’ experience in community services, including supporting vulnerable/trauma-affected individuals.
• Experience in outreach, case coordination and short-term support.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a broader team.
• Current NSW Driver Licence.
• Current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Responsibilities

• Support homeowners to navigate the Resilient Homes Program and understand their options.
• Provide trauma-informed, practical guidance throughout the recovery journey.
• Identify barriers to recovery and develop achievable strategies and support plans.
• Advocate for clients and connect them with appropriate services and supports.
• Build relationships with government agencies, community organisations and service providers.
• Undertake outreach and home visits across the Northern Rivers area.
• Coordinate short-term support and maintain professional case records.
• Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
• Promote client choice, dignity and self-determination.
