Job summary

HiTalent Recruitment in the Sydney area is seeking a compassionate Domestic Violence Support Worker to assist people experiencing homelessness and housing instability. You will provide trauma-informed, client-centred support and help with intake, assessment and daily operations of the accommodation service.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driver licence and willingness to drive as required.
• First Aid Certificate or equivalent.
• Experience supporting people experiencing homelessness, trauma, crisis or complex needs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; flexibleRoster availability.

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed, client-centred support consistent with service policies.
• Assist with client intake, assessment, orientation and ongoing site-based support.
• Maintain accurate records and daily notes for clients and case files.
• Collaborate with case workers to implement client case plans.
• Respond to crisis and emergency situations with composure and professionalism.
• Liaise with internal staff and external agencies to address client needs.
• Assist with inspections of units and rooms and supervise kitchen activities as required.
• Advocate for clients to improve access to services.
