Job summary

Care to Inspire is seeking two disability support workers for our Riverina team in Tumut, offering both full-time and part-time roles in newly established SIL residences. The role requires availability for mornings, evenings, sleepovers and weekends to provide 24/7 in-house support and accompany participants to appointments, shopping, and social events.

Qualifications

• Personal Care duties include assisting with bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Daily Living Activities include meal prep, household chores, and shopping.
• Mobility Assistance to move around homes and communities.
• Emotional and Social Support through companionship and social activity.
• Health Monitoring including medication management and health condition checks.
• Individualised Support Plans tailored to each participant.

• Collaborate with all stakeholders and display the ability to work autonomously and in a team.
• Accurately complete incident reports, progress notes and shift handovers at completion of each shift.

Job description

We are looking for 2 F/T & P/T disability support workers to be part of our Riverina team, working with our participants in one of our newly established SIL residences at Tumut. This role requires availability for mornings, evenings, sleepovers and weekends, providing 24/7 in house support, support with transport to appointments, shopping, and attending social/ recreational events.

These permanent F/T and P/T opportunities involve:-

• Personal Care - Assisting participants with personal hygiene tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring that participants maintain their dignity and comfort during these activities.

• Daily Living Activities – Assist participants with meal preparation, household chores (such as cleaning and laundry), and grocery shopping.

• Mobility Assistance- Support workers aid participants in moving around in their homes and community, this may include accompanying them to medical appointments, social outings, or community events.

• Emotional and Social Support – Providing companionship and emotional support, a crucial aspect of the role and must engage with participants in social activities, helping to reduce feelings of isolation and improve mental well-being.

• Health Monitoring – Assist with medication management, monitor participants health conditions and collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and follow up.

• Individualised Support Plans- Disability support workers often develop and implement personalized support plans tailored to the specific needs and goals of each participant, promoting their independence, choice of control and enhancing their quality of life.
