Job summary

Cootharinga in Cairns is hiring casual and permanent part-time Support Workers to help people live independently in their communities. You’ll join a friendly team and make a real difference through personalised support.

Responsibilities include personal care, meals, community participation, appointments, medication support and mobility assistance. Training is provided, and no prior experience is required to get started.

Qualifications

• A passion for people and customer service.
• Commitment to working with others to deliver outcomes.
• Current First Aid & CPR certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check (assistance available).

• Support people to live independently and do the things that matter to them.
• Assist with personal care, meals, daily tasks and mobility needs.
• Help people engage with the community and attend appointments or activities.
• Provide medication support and transport assistance when required.

Job description

We’re looking for casual and permanent part-time Support Workers in Cairns and surrounding suburbs to join our team. Whether you’ve done this before or you’re new and passionate about helping others — we’d love to hear from you.

What You Will Be Doing

No two days are the same — you’ll be supporting people to live independently and do the things that matter to them.

This Could Include

• Personal care (showering, dressing, toileting)
• Helping with meals, cleaning and daily tasks
• Supporting someone to get out into the community
• Attending appointments or social activities
• Medication support
• Assisting with mobility (including hoists where required)

Shifts available

Shifts are available across a variety of times, and we will work with you to build a permanent roster that suits your availability.
