Job summary

Cootharinga North Queensland in Mount Isa is seeking dedicated support workers to assist people with disabilities across casual and permanent part-time roles. You will perform Personal Care, social support, meal preparation, transport, and domestic tasks, with shift work including sleepovers and penalty rates.

Training is provided and career growth is encouraged. We offer buddy shifts, in-house and online training, and competitive hourly rates with Not for Profit Salary Packaging benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with disabilities preferred

We have services located in Mount Isa that are focused on providing supports to our customers that allow them to live the life they want. Do to a growth in demand for our services, we are hiring for multiple permanent part-time and casual positions in Mount Isa.

If you are flexible with the ability to work varied shifts, have a strong desire to assist our customers live the life they want and you have outstanding customer service skills then we want to hear from you!

About The Role

You can expect to undertake various duties including but not limited to, Personal Care (full training and buddy shifts provided), Manual Handling, Social Support, Transport, Meal Preparation, Domestic Assistance in home and Record Keeping. Applicants need to be aware that these positions involve shift work and may involve multiple shifts of varying durations throughout the day/night and including sleepover shifts - attractive penalty rates included! Both casual positions and permanent part-time roles available depending on preference.

What will you need

We are looking for people who come with some experience in providing support to people with disabilities but we are also open to providing entry-level roles to help you get in to the industry. We provide full-training in the classroom and on the job mentoring to support your onboarding. What we are looking for people who share our values and purpose of helping people live the life they want. We also invite applications from experienced support workers looking to make the change to Cootharinga or take on more responsibilities up to a Senior Support Worker role.

As Part Of The Onboarding Process, You Will Need

• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or Yellow Card and a Working with Children Blue Card or be willing to obtain (Cootharinga will cover the costs if successful)
• A current Driver License
• First Aid Certificate and CPR within the last 12 months or willing to obtain
• NDIS Worker Quality Orientation - Free to obtain (https://training.ndiscommission.gov.au/)

Training Requirement: Successful Applicants will be required to complete Online and on the Job face to face trainings.
