Job summary

Morale Care Pty Ltd in NSW seeks a compassionate Disability Support Worker to provide day-to-day support across Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, Short Term Respite (STR) and Individualised Living Options (ILO). You’ll help people achieve independence, dignity and choice, guided by person-centred, rights-based practice.

Shifts include mornings, afternoons, weekends and sleepovers. You will follow individual support plans, document shift notes and incident reports, and work with families,

Qualifications

• NDIS Worker Screening Check is mandatory.
• WWCC is required.
• Current First Aid & CPR certification is essential.
• Strong communication and ability to follow detailed plans.
• Experience in SIL, ILO or similar disability support settings.
• Training in restrictive practices or PBS is a plus.

We’re looking for compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our dedicated team.

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide day‑to‑day support across Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes, Short Term Respite (STR), and Individualised Living Options (ILO).
Your role is vital in building capacity, safeguarding wellbeing, and supporting people to live meaningful, connected lives.

You will support people with:

• Daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, budgeting and shopping
• Community access (appointments, social outings, training, volunteering, employment)
• Implementing individual support plans and goal‑focused strategies
• Medication administration, health plans, and positive behaviour support
• Maintaining a safe, comfortable home environment
• This role involves morning, afternoon, weekend and sleepover/active night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respectful, person‑centred and culturally safe support
• Follow individual support plans, behaviour support plans, and mealtime/healthcare plans
• Maintain accurate documentation such as shift notes, incident reports and behaviour data
• Uphold rights, privacy, consent, and safeguarding obligations
• Work collaboratively with participants, families, clinicians, and team members
• Promote independence, skills development and meaningful community participation

What We’re Looking For (Essential Criteria)

• Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed plans
• Confident supporting personal care, manual handling and mealtime assistance
• Ability to stay calm and professional during behavioural or emergency situations
• Experience in SIL, ILO or similar disability support settings
• Training in restrictive practices or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Commitment to ongoing learning and quality improvement
• Experience in disability support, community services or aged care
