Job summary

Lotus Ability is seeking dedicated disability support workers in New South Wales to empower NDIS participants with compassionate, person-centered assistance. You will support daily living activities, mobility, transport, and social engagement within community and supported accommodation settings.

Role requires Certificate III in Disability or equivalent, WWCC, First Aid, and a valid driver's license. The team offers consistent rostered shifts, supervision, and ongoing development within the NDIS

Qualifications

  • Experience in person-centered support and mental health awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a safe and empathetic presence, offer active listening, and use emotional regulation techniques to help reduce isolation and distress.
  • Assist participants with all aspects of daily personal care with dignity and respect, including showering, toileting, and hygiene assistance.
  • Perform safe manual handling tasks, including the skilled operation of hoists and wheelchairs.
  • Support in building capacity, pursuing personal goals, and engaging in social, cultural, and recreational activities.
  • Support with light domestic duties, such as meal planning/preparation, cleaning and laundry.
  • Provide transport for community participation and appointments using your own insured vehicle.
  • Follow person-centered care plans and support positive behavior management strategies.
  • Maintain clear, precise documentation and case notes in alignment with participant NDIS plans.
  • Adhere strictly to NDIS quality standards, safety guidelines, and incident reporting protocols.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, participant confidentiality, and uphold choice and control at all times
  • Participate in mandatory training and professional development activities

About the role

The primary purpose of the role is striving to deliver excellent support care to NDIS Participants. We seek disability support workers who actively support individuals to move along a pathway to living the life they want.

Key responsibilities

About you

You are an empathetic, proactive professional who thrives in both independent and team settings. You bring exceptional communication skills, sound problem-solving abilities, and a strong commitment to person-centered care.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent industry experience.

Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC).

Current First Aid and CPR certificates.

Completed NDIS Orientation Module and Infection Control Training.

Valid Driver's License, a reliable vehicle, and comprehensive car insurance.

Deep understanding of the disability sector, person-centred support, and therapeutic frameworks.

Professional or lived experience supporting individuals experiencing complex mental health challenges, Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) dependencies, and/or disabilities.

Proven ability to follow support plans, write professional case notes and reports, and utilise functional IT systems.
