Job summary

Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Shortland, NSW is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join our Accommodation SIL Houses in the Newcastle region, specifically Wyong. You will support adults to live independently, following person-centred plans, with a focus on daily living, mobility and community engagement.

We offer competitive hourly rates ($34.59-$35.67) plus super, 25% casual loading, penalties, wellbeing allowance, gym discounts, EAP, referral bonuses and funded training, including CHC33021

Qualifications

• NSW Driver’s Licence (P2 or above) required.
• A can-do attitude and growth mindset; open to learning and making a difference.
• Professional behaviour support experience or lived experience preferred, passion & enthusiasm are key.
• Availability across a variety of shift times, including early mornings, day shifts, afternoons, evenings, and overnights.

The Role:

Support adults living in our CPA group home to lead rich, independent and empowered lives. This posting is specifically for our home in Wyong.

Your day-to-day may include:

• Providing respectful support with personal care, mealtimes, medication, and daily routines
• Encouraging skill-building, independence, and decision-making
• Supporting community engagement, social connection and transport (including use of CPA vans & in your own vehicle)
• Following person-centred plans with empathy and professionalism
• Building positive relationships with our clients

What You’ll Bring:

We are looking for candidates who embody CPA values , are client-focused in their approach to care, and are passionate about the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of people with disabilities. You’ll bring:

• A can-do attitude and growth mindset — you’re open to learning and ready to make a difference
• Professional Behaviour Support experience or lived experience preferred, however your passion & enthusiasm is key!
• NSW Driver’s Licence (P2 or above)
• Physical capability to support clients with mobility or transfers
• Availability across a variety of shift times, including:
  • Early mornings (6am - 9am)
  • Day shifts (9am - 3/4pm)
  • Afternoons & evenings
  • Awake overnights (10pm-6am)

You will have comprehensive training throughout your orientation, with ongoing learning and development. We invest $5,000 in training in your first year
