Job summary

Cerebral Palsy Alliance in Central Coast, NSW, is seeking dedicated Support Workers for our Home & Community service. You will support adults in CPA group homes to live independent, empowered lives, with person‑centred care, personal routines, and meaningful community engagement.

Your role involves skills-building, safe mobility support, transport, and collaborative planning with clients and the team, with travel between Wyong, Long Jetty and Umina.

Qualifications

  • Driver's licence required.
  • Physical capability to assist clients with mobility or transfers.
  • Availability for a minimum of 3 days per week (15–20+ hours), including 2 Saturdays per month.
  • Willingness to travel to different CPA locations across the Central Coast region.

Responsibilities

  • Support adults living in CPA group homes to lead independent lives.
  • Encourage skill-building, independence and decision-making.
  • Provide personal care, meals, medication and daily routines.

Primarily, these positions include community-based one-on-one support where you'll have the opportunity to directly engage with clients and encourage independence by taking them out into the community. *Note: whilst you will have a primary location during your onboarding (Beresfield), these roles are based in the Central Coast and will require travel to different clients throughout the region including Wyong, Long Jetty, and Umina.

The Role

Support adults living in CPA group homes to lead rich, independent and empowered lives.

Your day-to-day may include:

  • Encouraging skill-building, independence, and decision-making
  • Providing respectful support with personal care, mealtimes, medication, and daily routines
  • Supporting community engagement, social connection and transport (including use of CPA vans & in your own vehicle)
  • Following person-centred plans with empathy and professionalism
  • Building positive relationships with our clients.
What You'll Bring
  • We are looking for candidates who embody CPA values, are client-focused in their approach to care, and are passionate about the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of people with disabilities.
  • A can-do attitude and growth mindset — you’re open to learning and ready to make a difference
  • Professional Behaviour Support experience or lived experience preferred, however your can-do attitude is key!
  • NSW Driver’s Licence (P2 or above)
  • Physical capability to support clients with mobility or transfers
  • Availability for a minimum of 3 days per week (15–20+ hours), ideally including a minimum of 2 Saturdays/month - Available to work shifts between the hours of 9am and 4pm
  • Comfortable travelling to all locations in the region

Training & Development

We invest $5,000 in training in your first year. This includes:

  • Buddy shifts with CPA's experienced Disability Support Workers
  • CPA is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 90213). We offer fully funded nationally recognised qualifications including: CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual Support
  • Ongoing specialist training and skill development
