Job summary

Cerebral Palsy Alliance is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for Home & Community services across the Central Coast. You will assist adults in group homes and in the community to lead independent lives, following person-centered plans and building meaningful connections.

The role involves travel across locations, with shifts from 9am to 4pm and a minimum of 15-20 hours per week, including weekend work. Comprehensive training is provided.

Qualifications

• Requires NSW Driver’s Licence (P2 or above).
• Physical capability to support clients with mobility or transfers.
• Availability for a minimum of 3 days per week (15-20+ hours), including at least 2 Saturdays per month.
• Travel to multiple locations in the Central Coast region.

Responsibilities

• Encourage skill-building, independence and decision-making.
• Provide support with personal care, meals, medication and daily routines.
• Assist with community engagement and transport for clients.

Primarily, these positions include community-based one-on-one support where you'll have the opportunity to directly engage with clients and encourage independence by taking them out into the community.

Note: whilst you will have a primary location during your onboarding (Beresfield), these roles are based in the Central Coast and will require travel to different clients throughout the region including Wyong, Long Jetty, and Umina.

The Role

Support adults living in CPA group homes to lead rich, independent and empowered lives. Your day-to-day may include:

• Encouraging skill-building, independence, and decision-making
• Providing respectful support with personal care, mealtimes, medication, and daily routines
• Supporting community engagement, social connection and transport (including use of CPA vans & in your own vehicle)
• Following person-centered plans with empathy and professionalism
• Building positive relationships with our clients

What You’ll Bring

Professional Behaviour Support experience or lived experience preferred, however your can-do attitude is key!
