Job summary

Integrated Disability Support Services (IDSS) is seeking a Practice Improvement and Quality Leader to assess and strengthen skills of Supported Independent Living teams. The role is hands-on, focusing on quality disability support, evaluating practice in homes and guiding workers to improve.

Working within IDSS guidelines and training matrices, you’ll conduct competency assessments, provide coaching, and ensure improvements meet NDIS and SIL standards while respecting participant needs and

Qualifications

• Experience in SIL service delivery and practice leadership.
• Strong knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, including SIL standards.
• Experience assessing staff competency and providing practical, evidence-based feedback.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct competency and skills assessments across SIL teams.
• Observe daily support practices in participants' homes with consent.
• Use demonstrations, knowledge assessments and scenarios to assess capability.
• Assess how workers apply participant support plans and procedures.
• Document assessment evidence and required development actions.
• Identify skill gaps and update training records.
• Provide constructive feedback and coaching to staff and team leaders.
• Coordinate targeted training and reassessment where needed.
• Ensure training translates into safe, consistent support.
