Job summary

Haven Care Australia Pty Ltd – Canberra, ACT, is seeking a Team Leader to guide a Supported Independent Living (SIL) team. This hands-on leadership role combines direct participant support with operational leadership in a SIL home.

You will lead from the front, oversee staff performance, ensure high-quality, person-centred supports, and collaborate with families, coordinators and clinical teams. Previous SIL/complex disability leadership experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful applicants will hold or obtain relevant ACT disability service employment requirements.
• Worker screening, Working With Vulnerable People registration, First Aid/CPR, and a valid driver’s licence are required.
• Relevant qualifications in disability support or related health fields are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and provide day-to-day direction to Disability Support Workers.
• Ensure participants receive safe, respectful and person-centred supports per NDIS plans.
• Coordinate daily operations within the SIL home.
• Monitor staff attendance, shift handovers and required documentation.
• Support rostering within participant funding and support ratios.
• Maintain medication management, incident reporting and progress notes.
• Ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed.
• Liaise with families, guardians, coordinators and clinical teams.
