Job summary

Life Without Barriers is seeking a capable leader to coach and mentor Disability Support Workers across two Supported Independent Living homes in Ballina and Lismore. You will oversee operations, ensure safety, quality care and responsive on-call coverage.

The role requires strong people skills, problem solving, and a Diploma in Social & Community Services or equivalent, plus a valid driver's licence and probity checks. Travel between sites and to families is expected.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in disability/mental health services.
• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Diploma in Social & Community Services or equivalent.
• Current unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence and vehicle access.

Responsibilities

• Lead 24/7 service operations for 2 SIL properties (Ballina & Lismore).
• Inspire and support Disability Support Workers with a collaborative leadership style.
• Maintain clear role distinctions and decisive leadership.
• Ensure continuity of services during staff leave and absences.
• Promote resilience, adaptability and staff competency in active support.
