Job summary

KangaCare Group is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers in Melbourne to support participants with high support needs across home and community environments. You will work with individuals with complex behaviours, psychosocial disabilities, Autism and intellectual disabilities, following detailed care plans and BSPs.

You will assist with daily living tasks, personal care, medication support, and community access while maintaining participant dignity and independence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting people with complex disabilities.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviours and escalations.
• Understand positive behaviour support and participant rights.
• Strong communication, observation and documentation skills.
• Follow care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
• Professional boundaries and participant dignity.

Responsibilities

• Provide support in home and community settings.
• Support participants with complex behaviours and behaviours of concern.
• Implement Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and established strategies.
• Assist with personal care and daily living tasks.
• Support community access, appointments, shopping and social activities.
• Provide high-intensity supports when trained.
• Provide medication assistance as per care plans.
