Job summary

MYKARE is hiring a Disability Support Worker to provide personalized care to individuals with disabilities in Geelong. You will support participants with high-needs, focusing on promoting functional independence, dignity and quality of life.

Responsibilities include personal care, mobility transfers, daily living assistance, and facilitating community participation. You will work to uphold PBSPs, safety protocols and documentation, while maintaining a calm, respectful approach.

Qualifications

• Experience with high-needs support including manual handling (hoists, slide sheets) and complex personal care.
• Understanding of Person-Centered Care principles.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-needs personal care including daily hygiene, showering, grooming and dressing.
• Provide mobility and transfers with safe assisted techniques.
• Assist with daily living tasks such as meal preparation and maintaining a clean living area.
• Promote community inclusion with social activities and hobbies.
• Support participant autonomy with respectful, calm care.
• Follow care plans, PBSPs, safety protocols and complete progress notes and incident reports.
