Job summary

Kanda is seeking Support Workers to join our Mackay team providing complex care and individualised support. Whether you’re experienced in disability support, bring valuable lived experience, or are looking to develop your skills in the sector, full training and ongoing support will be provided.

You will provide personal care, support daily routines and community access, follow care plans, and communicate with the team.

Qualifications

• Have disability or complex care experience, lived experience, or willingness to learn.
• Are reliable, compassionate and keen to develop their support skills.
• Are studying or have qualifications in Occupational Therapy, allied health, nursing, Individual Support or Disability Support (highly desirable).

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care and assistance with everyday activities
• Supporting participants with daily routines and community access
• Following individual support plans and relevant care procedures
• Recognising changes in participants' needs and escalating concerns where appropriate
• Completing accurate shift notes and communicating important information to the team
• Working collaboratively with other support workers to deliver consistent, quality care
