Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking an experienced Head of Graduate Research Services to lead the HDR Administration Centre and shape service delivery across the HDR lifecycle. You will report to the Director of the Graduate Research School and drive strategic initiatives, capability development and continuous improvement within a large, complex university environment.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience in a complex organisation with large operational or student services.
• Experience leading and developing teams, building capability and high performance.
• Expertise in governance, compliance, policy implementation and service delivery frameworks.
• Ability to influence, negotiate and build partnerships with senior stakeholders.
• Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent training/experience; HDR familiarity desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic advice and operational support to the Director and senior stakeholders.
• Lead delivery of high-quality, client-focused services across the HDR lifecycle.
• Mentor a high-performing team and foster accountability, improvement and service excellence.
• Drive service innovation, process improvements and HDR systems enhancements.
• Manage governance, compliance, policy implementation and operational risk.
• Build collaborations with faculties, schools and professional service units.
