Responsibilities

  • Manage shared inboxes and respond to internal and external enquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Coordinate incoming/outgoing correspondence for Plumbing, Trade Waste and Backflow team (lodgements, applications, general enquiries).
  • Provide administrative support across planning and engineering processes, ensuring information is recorded, tracked and actioned.
  • Assist with preparation, distribution and follow-up of correspondence, records and standard documentation.
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to clarify information, resolve issues and support service outcomes.
  • Maintain high attention to detail when managing documentation, customer information and workflow priorities.

Are you an organised, proactive administrator who enjoys keeping things moving behind the scenes? Mackay Regional Council is seeking a permanent part-time Development Support Officer to provide high-quality administrative and customer service support to the Plumbing, Trade Waste and Backflow Team within Development Planning and Engineering.

About this opportunity

This role is administrative in nature and supports a busy technical team that manages plumbing, trade waste and backflow-related lodgements, enquiries and correspondence. You will play an important role in managing shared inboxes, responding to customer and stakeholder queries, and ensuring incoming and outgoing correspondence is accurate, timely and well coordinated.

Working 31 hours per week, this permanent part-time opportunity is based in Mackay, with flexible hours to be discussed with the successful candidate.

Role
  • Manage shared inboxes and respond to internal and external enquiries in a timely, professional and helpful manner.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing correspondence for the Plumbing, Trade Waste and Backflow Team, including matters relating to lodgements, applications and general enquiries.
  • Provide administrative support across planning and engineering processes, ensuring information is recorded, tracked and actioned accurately.
  • Assist with the preparation, distribution and follow-up of correspondence, records and standard documentation.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders to clarify information, resolve issues and support positive service outcomes.
  • Maintain a high level of attention to detail when managing documentation, customer information and workflow priorities.
