Job summary

Ambrose Construct Group is seeking an experienced Desktop Building Assessor to join our team. This role suits someone with plumbing, insurance building, restoration or construction background and strong knowledge of water damage who wants to apply their technical experience in a desktop environment.

Reporting to the National Make Safe Leader, you will assess building and water damage claims, conduct virtual assessments, coordinate evidence, and prepare detailed reports for insurers.

Qualifications

• Plumbing background or strong knowledge of plumbing and water-related damage.
• Experience in plumbing, construction, insurance building, restoration, claims or related field.
• Solid understanding of building practices and ability to determine causes of property damage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written communication and report-writing skills; confident with customers, insurers and trades.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple claims and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess plumbing or water-related building claims.
• Conduct virtual assessments to determine cause and extent of damage.
• Apply plumbing/building knowledge to determine causation.
• Identify claims potentially outside policy coverage.
• Coordinate plumbers, trades and other specialists for evidence.
• Prepare clear causation and assessment reports for insurers.
• Liaise with customers, insurers, trades and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation across systems.
• Progress claims efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.
