Job summary

Powercor in Victoria is seeking a Depot Operations Manager (Field Leader - Colac) to oversee overhead and underground works, leading a team of employees, contractors and service providers. The role requires technical knowledge of electrical distribution assets and a background in an electrical distribution trade.

You will ensure compliance with standards, drive safety, schedule, quality and cost outcomes across projects.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing skilled field teams and industrial relations.
• Technical understanding and working knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution assets, construction and maintenance operations.
• Commercial acumen to monitor and manage project performance.
• Knowledge of construction and field services management techniques for improving construction performance (HSE, cost, schedule, quality).
• Proven communication and coaching skills to support and direct construction teams.
• Qualification in an electrical distribution trade, or relevant.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-discipline lines teams on electrical construction projects.
• Ensure the effective utilisation of resources to meet timeline, quality, HSE, network reliability and cost targets.
• Provide local operational leadership for the site and manage related customer and stakeholder communications.
• Support business planning initiatives including HSE, network reliability, human resources, sub-contract, financial and operational functions.
• Ensure delivery of construction projects within schedule, cost, HSE and quality requirements.
• Develop capabilities of the resources in terms of technical skills and behaviours.
• Manage overtime and stand-downs to meet workload requirements while balancing corporate HR needs.
