Job summary

Dr Michael Finkelstein is a small, boutique dental practice in Sydney seeking a friendly receptionist to welcome patients, manage the front desk and support day-to-day operations.

You will handle appointments, recalls and patient communications, process payments including health fund claims, and assist the dental team in a warm, professional environment where every colleague contributes to excellent patient care. Full-time or part-time hours available, Monday to Friday.

Qualifications

  • Experience in front-desk reception roles preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable navigating multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Willingness to learn and be part of a small team.

Job description

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play an important role in making everyone feel welcome and ensuring the day-to-day operations of the practice run smoothly. You will manage the front office of our surgery in a small, boutique dental practice.

Key responsibilities
  • Welcoming patients with warmth, professionalism and a friendly manner
  • Managing the front desk and coordinating the daily operations of the surgery
  • Managing appointments, bookings, recalls and patient communication
  • Answering telephone enquiries with confidence, care and excellent communication skills
  • Processing payments, including health fund claims and patient accounts
  • Supporting the dental team with administration, coordination and day-to-day practice requirements
  • Maintaining accurate patient records and helping to ensure the practice runs efficiently and smoothly
About you
  • Confident, caring and genuinely enjoys working with people
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly over the telephone
  • Highly organised, reliable and attentive to detail
  • Can juggle multiple tasks and priorities while remaining calm under pressure
  • Professional, positive and team-oriented approach
  • Takes pride in providing exceptional patient service
  • Enjoys being part of a small, supportive team and building lasting relationships with patients
  • Comfortable using computers and learning practice-management systems
  • Previous dental reception experience would be highly regarded, although strong reception or medical administration experience and willingness to learn also welcome
