Job summary

Impression Dental Group on the Sunshine Coast region is seeking an experienced Dental Assistant to join our busy, modern 5-chair practice on a full-time basis, including Saturdays.

You will support the dental team, assist during examinations, and help with implants as needed, while maintaining high standards of patient comfort and care.

Qualifications

• Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential.
• A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient management, including greeting patients and ensuring their comfort.
• Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and organised treatment area and monitor supply levels.
• Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene.

In this hands‑on role, you’ll work closely with our dental team and report to the Practice Manager. Plus, with a variety of procedures and a collaborative environment, there’s plenty of opportunity to grow your skills and expand your knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
• Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
• Inventory Management: Monitor dental supply levels, ensuring the treatment room is well‑stocked and organised.
• Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
• Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.
