Job summary

St Ives Dental Group is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic Dental Assistant to join on a casual basis. You will work closely with dentists and the wider team in a modern general dentistry practice, helping deliver great patient care and a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Dental Assistant is essential.
  • A Cert III or IV in Dental Assisting is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and professionalism when addressing patient concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with patient management, including greeting patients and preparing them for procedures.
  • Prepare and sterilise dental instruments and assist the dentist during examinations and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
  • Monitor dental supplies and ensure the room is well-stocked.
  • Educate patients on post-operative care and oral hygiene.

About the position:

St Ives Dental Group is looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis.

We’re a welcoming, supportive team in a modern general dentistry practice, committed to providing great patient care and creating a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with our dentists and wider team across a variety of general dental procedures. No two days are exactly the same, so it’s a great opportunity to keep building your skills, broaden your dental knowledge and be part of a team that genuinely enjoys working together.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Patient Care: Assist with patient management, including greeting patients, preparing them for procedures, and ensuring their comfort.
  • Clinical Support: Prepare and sterilise dental instruments, assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, and maintain a clean and organised treatment area.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor dental supplies levels, ensuring the treatment room is well-stocked and organised.
  • Patient Education: Provide patients with post-operative care instructions and educate them about oral hygiene and preventive care.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with dentists, hygienists, and other staff to ensure a smooth workflow and positive patient experience.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols, as well as regulatory requirements in the dental practice.
