Job summary

Bare Demolition is seeking an experienced Demolition Supervisor to lead a hands-on team on diverse projects in Australia. You will work alongside demolition labourers, allocate tasks, monitor safety and productivity, and may operate excavators or other plant on site.

The role emphasizes practical leadership, strong WHS compliance, and a proactive approach to solving on-site challenges. A driver’s licence and White Card are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in the demolition industry.
• Experience supervising a small demolition crew.
• Hands-on demolition background and willingness to work with the team.
• Experience operating an excavator in demolition or construction.
• Strong knowledge of demolition methods, tools, plant and safe work practices.
• Good WHS understanding.
• Ability to lead a team while managing daily workload.
• Australian driver’s licence and Construction White Card.
• Relevant plant operating tickets.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Demolition Supervisor to join our team in a hands‑on supervisory role.

This position is ideal for an experienced demolition professional who enjoys being on the tools and actively involved in demolition works, while also taking responsibility for leading and managing a small team of labourers.

About the Role

As Demolition Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of demolition works while working hands‑on alongside a small team of demolition labourers.

Your role will include organising daily activities, allocating tasks, monitoring safety and productivity, and actively participating in demolition works. Depending on the project, you may also be required to operate an excavator and other plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Work hands‑on in demolition activities alongside your team
• Engage in discussions to clarify and identify potential issues with methodology using your expertise as supervisor and providing alternative solutions as part of the discussion
• Supervise and lead a small team of demolition labourers
• Allocate daily tasks and coordinate site activities
• Undertake manual and mechanical demolition works as required
• Operate excavators and other plant when required
• Conduct pre‑starts, toolbox talks and site safety checks
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with SWMS, WHS requirements and project specifications
• Maintain productivity while ensuring safe work practices are followed
• Coordinate manpower, plant, equipment, tools and materials required for daily works
• Monitor the performance of the team and provide direction where required
• Identify and resolve day‑to‑day site issues
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised worksite
• Communicate progress and site requirements to Project Managers
• Ensure plant, equipment and tools are used correctly and looked after
• Ensure all required paperwork is completed in a timely manner

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working in the demolition industry
• Previous experience supervising or leading a small demolition crew
• A strong hands‑on demolition background and willingness to work alongside your team
• Experience operating an excavator in a demolition or construction environment
• Strong knowledge of demolition methods, tools, plant and safe work practices
• Good understanding of WHS requirements
• Ability to lead a team while maintaining your own daily workload
• Good communication and organisational skills
• A practical approach to problem solving
• A strong work ethic and willingness to lead by example
• Current Australian driver’s licence
• Construction White Card
• Relevant plant operating tickets
