Job summary

Coles Group is seeking a Senior Data Governance Lead within the Commercial Transformation team to establish and operationalise the Product Data Management & Governance framework across the Merchandise domain. You will partner with BUs and senior stakeholders to implement data governance principles in a large, complex business.

You will lead a team of 6 direct reports, prioritise initiatives, and drive continuous improvement while enabling data-driven decisions.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in IT, data management or analytics.
• Experience leading data management and governance initiatives and teams.
• Experience with retail product data preferred.
• Strong understanding of data governance principles and operational application.
• Experience influencing senior stakeholders in a complex matrix environment.
• Proven people leadership and prioritisation ability.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills; able to present data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel to communicate strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Product Data Management & Governance framework via a continuous improvement cycle.
• Identify and prioritise PM&G initiatives based on BU data needs.
• Chair the Business Unit Data Readiness Working Group.
• Support BUs and projects in complying with DM&G requirements.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and drive multiple projects.
• Develop plans to monitor and track DM&G initiatives.
• Manage and develop a team of 6 direct reports.
