Job summary

VOCUS is seeking a Data Centre Operator to manage day-to-day operations at our Melbourne data centres. You will deliver outstanding customer service, handle remote hands, and support emergency response and client service delivery within the facilities.

Responsibilities include monitoring infrastructure, coordinating with Telcos and vendors, and assisting in maintenance, documentation, and site security. A 24/7 on-call rotation may be required.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of data communications services and systems.
• Knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems and principles.
• Proficient in TCP/IP, Ethernet and related network protocols.
• Network installation and configuration knowledge.
• Knowledge of network hardware including switches, routers and cabling.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A valid C Class Driver's License is required.
• Data Centre operations experience is highly regarded.
• Trade background is highly regarded.
• Experience in facilities management and service technician roles is advantageous.
• Understanding of ISO27001 and IT security principles is desired.
• Experience in Data Centre security risk management and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service including timely communication to clients regarding facility operations and remote services.
• Process customer request tickets and monitor facility infrastructure.
• Coordinate with Telcos and vendors for cable and infrastructure deployments.
• Perform site maintenance coordination and ensure documentation is up to date.
• Be on 24/7 on-call rotation for emergency response when required.
• Assist in onboarding customers and signing in/out at the site.
• Support project delivery from concept to implementation, including vendor management.
• Help maintain safety, WHS compliance, and site cleanliness.
