Job summary

The Royal Flying Doctor Service SA/NT is seeking an Operations Coordinator based in Darwin to coordinate assets, crews and road ambulance resources for aeromedical services. The role reports to the Team Leader, OCC and supports 24/7 operations with 12‑hour rotating shifts.

You will liaise with hospitals, clinics and partners to ensure safe, efficient patient transfers and high-quality service across remote communities in the NT.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate RFDS SA/NT assets and resources to support safe, efficient and responsive operations.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders, including contract partners and healthcare professionals.
• Liaise with hospitals and remote clinics to coordinate patient readiness and timely transfers.
• Coordinate road ambulance resources and aircraft refuelling requirements for transfers.
• Provide advice on asset and crew availability and optimise resource use.
• Monitor and manage ground-to-aircraft radio communications for safe operations.
• Record and maintain operational information in relevant systems and databases.
• Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement in the OCC.
