Job summary

Holroyd Private Hospital in Guildford invites applications for a Senior CSSD Technician. You will be responsible for cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly and sterilisation of a wide range of instruments, including ophthalmic and endoscopy equipment.

Qualifications

Job description

Holroyd Private Hospital is a 48 bed Surgical, Medical and Rehabilitation Hospital located in Guildford. Macquarie Health Corporation is a leading operator of private hospitals in Australia. The Hospital offers 3 Operating Theatres, 1Day Surgery Unit, specializing in Bariatric surgery, Ophthalmic surgery, plastic surgery and Endoscopies.

THE ROLE

An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified person to join our CSSD team. In this role, the successful applicant will be responsible for the care, handling and reprocessing of reusable medical devices within the Sterilizing Services Department.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:

• Experienced Instrument Technician with current knowledge of all aspects of Sterilising Services and the requirements of AS 5369:2023
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Sterilising Services Department (CSSD) with cleaning, decontaminating, sorting and assembling surgical instrument trays. Essential experience in endoscopic reprocessing required.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment & independently when required
• Strong attention to detail, excellent Customer Services Skills and time management skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and the achievement of excellence
• Evidence of vaccination/immunity history for COVID19, Hepatitis B, MMR, DTPA, Varicella and vaccination/screening for TB

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Senior CSSD Technician with strong knowledge and practical expertise in the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly and sterilisation of a wide range of surgical instruments, including ophthalmic, endoscopy and general surgical instrumentation. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to infection prevention and control, instrument traceability, quality assurance and compliance with relevant Australian standards and hospital procedures.
