Cake Boutique in Sydney is seeking an experienced Pastry Chef / Cake Decorator to join our busy production team. You will produce and decorate a range of cakes and desserts to a high standard, including wedding and celebration cakes, while mastering fondant finishing and tiered structures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a pastry chef, cake decorator or cake artist.
• Strong cake decorating skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently without compromising quality.
• Experience with wedding and celebration cakes.

Responsibilities

• Baking cakes, sponge cakes and other pastry products.
• Cutting, leveling and filling cakes accurately.
• Ganaching and preparing cakes for decoration.
• Working confidently with buttercream.
• Assembling and constructing multi-tiered cakes.
• Understanding cake structure, support systems and stability.
• Working with fondant, including covering and decorating cakes.
• Cake sculpturing and shaping.
• Piping and detailed decorative work.
• Creating clean and professional finishes.
• Decorating wedding, celebration and custom-designed cakes.
• Following recipes and maintaining consistent quality.
• Working efficiently and completing orders within required timeframes.
• Maintaining a clean, organized and hygienic work area.
• Working as part of a team while also being able to work independently
