Job summary

Baked Collective in Sydney is seeking an experienced Baker and Cake Decorator to stack, bake and decorate wedding cakes. The role involves Saturday deliveries (12pm–6pm) with occasional Sunday and Friday runs, plus assisting in shopfront and kitchen tasks.

You will ensure allergy-friendly options, maintain high hygiene standards, and coordinate with wedding coordinators while keeping schedules and orders fulfilled.

Job description

Baked Collective is looking for an experienced Baker and Cake Decorator. The role involves stacking and decorating cakes, delivering wedding cakes (mainly on Saturdays between 12pm-6pm, with occasional Sunday and Friday deliveries), planning and checking schedules, serving and fulfilling customer orders, and maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary standards of the workplace and kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Cutting and stacking cake layers
• Mixing and baking cakes
• Cleaning and organising inventory
• Delivering wedding cakes
• Liaising with wedding coordinators
• Jumping into other roles where needed (shopfront/cafe, baking other items, slices/brownies etc)

About you

• Prior experience in cake decorating in a professional setting
• Ability to learn fast and pay attention to detail when handling allergy friendly cakes
• Neat buttercream and piping skills
• Experience working on retro/vintage style cakes and tiered wedding cakes
• Positive attitude and hardworking
• Willing to comply to health and food safety standards
