Job summary

Department of Justice and Community Safety VIC – Lara VIC is seeking a client services support officer for Western Plains Correctional Centre. You will work on site, including weekends and public holidays, engaging directly with people in custody to keep essential services running smoothly.

You will be responsible for customer service, mail and property checks, money transactions, stock control and safe transport within the prison, contributing to a secure and respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of relevant laws, policies and procedures.
• Sound computer skills, including office software or prison systems.
• Understanding of stores, warehousing and workplace safety.
• Respectful, flexible approach to helping customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Provide helpful customer service to people in custody, staff and visitors.
• Manage mail and personal property through secure checks, storage and delivery.
• Process money and account transactions with accurate records.
• Order supplies, check stock and support the prison shop.
• Organise safe transport of people and goods within the prison.
