Job summary

Long Bay Complex is hiring Correctional Officers (Casual and Ongoing). The role includes supervising inmates, maintaining security, and supporting programs across facilities in NSW. A 12-week paid training course and a Certificate III in Correctional Practice are provided.

The base salary is 77,406 AUD per year with 13% employer superannuation and penalties for eligible shifts. No prior experience required; minimum age 18, Australian/New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency, and fitness

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years old.
• Hold a Provisional P1 Driver's Licence.
• Be an Australia or New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident.
• Willing to complete Certificate III in Correctional Practice.
• Meet medical standards and have reasonable level of fitness.
• Dress and appearance policy requires visible body art documentation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage inmates in secured environments across prisons and court cells.
• Perform headcounts, searches, and monitor movements as part of routine duties.
• Contribute to programs and work activities, maintain safety and security.
