Job summary

City of Ryde is seeking an experienced Compliance Ranger to deliver regulatory and environmental enforcement. You will respond to community concerns, investigate breaches, gather evidence and take enforcement action when needed.

Role covers illegal dumping, littering, erosion control, water pollution and vehicle enforcement. You will work a rotating roster, with after-hours support and occasional event duties.

Qualifications

• Completion of Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
• Current NSW Driver Licence.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation in day-to-day situations.
• Professional, calm and approachable manner with the public.
• Proven ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Experience and/or confidence in safely handling and managing dogs.
• High level of computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regulatory and environmental enforcement services effectively.
• Respond to community concerns and investigate alleged breaches.
• Gather evidence, educate and provide advice, enforce where required.
• Handle issues including illegal dumping, littering, erosion, water pollution.
• Participate in rotating rosters, after-hours support and events.
