Job summary

Bayside Council is seeking a Regulatory Services Officer to enforce animal and public-space regulations within the Bayside LGA. The role involves investigating breaches, issuing penalties, and ensuring compliance with a range of statutes.

You will respond to animal control issues, assist with impounding, and undertake patrols to monitor public areas. The position requires after-hours work on a 7-day roster and a current C-class licence.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Regulatory Services/Investigations/Animal Management is required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in regulatory enforcement or similar roles.
• Current Driver’s Licence Class C is required.
• Extensive ranger experience or similar regulatory enforcement experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate breaches of laws and regulations within Bayside LGA.
• Respond to animal control issues including stray, dangerous, and impounding matters.
• Respond to complaints and issue penalties and orders for identified breaches.
• Undertake routine patrols of public land to monitor breaches and educate the community.
• Liaise with authorities on cross‑jurisdictional safety issues.
• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve council priorities.
