Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council in NSW is seeking enthusiastic Library Assistants to deliver friendly customer service, assist with loans, memberships and digital resources, and help visitors navigate our services.

You will support children's and youth initiatives, maintain welcoming collections, contribute ideas to improve services, and work across the library network within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have strong customer service and community engagement experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Comfort with computers, digital resources and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities

• Creating positive and welcoming experiences for library customers
• Assisting with loans, returns, memberships and reservations
• Helping customers access technology, digital resources and library services
• Maintaining attractive, organised and accessible collections
• Supporting the delivery of library programs, events and community activities
• Assisting with children's and youth initiatives
• Working across our library network to support service delivery
• Contributing ideas that help us continually improve our services
