Job summary

Offshore Staff Assist is seeking professionals for roles including Community Development Officer, Community Support Worker and Housing Officer to advance community initiatives and address welfare issues in health, housing and employment.

Responsibilities include assessing needs, creating educational programs, interviewing clients, and coordinating with government bodies and support agencies to improve service delivery.

Qualifications

• AQF qualifications or Diploma equivalent required or three years of relevant experience may substitute.
• Experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to formal qualifications.
• English language proficiency as specified (IELTS 5.0 overall with 4.5 minimum in each component) or exemptions applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients' needs and develop educational, training and support programs.
• Interview clients to determine the nature and extent of difficulties.
• Monitor and report on client progress; refer to additional support agencies as needed.
• Evaluate community needs across health, welfare, housing, employment and services.
• Collaborate with community groups, welfare agencies, government bodies and private businesses to raise awareness of resources.
• Support families and care for children and disabled persons in various service units and institutions.
• Prepare funding submissions and reports for government bodies and other agencies.
