Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia is seeking a Community Housing Support Worker in Alice Springs to support residents in transitional housing, ensuring safe, well-maintained, welcoming properties and compliant tenancy practices.

You will build relationships, conduct welfare checks, coordinate with contractors, and assist with intake and records to support residents toward stability and dignity.

Qualifications

• Experience in tenancy or community housing roles.
• Ability to engage with people who may not have English as a first language.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency with common computer applications.
• Diploma in Community Services or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist with tenancy management and welfare checks.
• Build positive relationships with residents and support settlement.
• Coordinate with contractors and maintain safety and cleanliness of properties.
• Keep records up to date and ensure compliance with tenancy requirements.
• Support new intakes and contribute to a calm, respectful environment.
