Job summary

The Salvation Army Australia in Alice Springs seeks a diligent Support Worker to assist in the Homelessness Hub. You will greet participants, provide practical support, connect with services and work alongside Case Managers to deliver brief interventions and activities that build routine and social connection.

Reporting to the Team Leader, this full-time role involves maintaining a safe, respectful environment, cultural safety, and participation in staff meetings and training to improve outcomes

Qualifications

• Experience in homelessness services, crisis support or community-based case work.
• Ability to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Knowledge of local Aboriginal communities and culture is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Walk alongside participants facing complex life challenges with warmth and respect.
• Provide brief interventions and one-on-one support in the Hub.
• Facilitate activities that promote wellbeing, routine and social connection.
• Support access to services, identification and income pathways.
• Help maintain a safe, clean and welcoming environment in peak periods.
• Collaborate with Case Managers and program partners to ensure coordinated care.
