Breakthru, part of the Royal Rehab Group, is seeking a casual Disability Support Worker in Cairns to support clients in homes, workplaces and communities. This role offers 10–20 hours per week with flexibility to cover leave, and is ideal for someone seeking meaningful, hands-on community-based support.

You will promote independence, dignity and choice while keeping clients safe in real-world settings, with a values-driven team that supports growth and inclusive practice.

Qualifications

• Criminal record check required or willing to obtain.
• Working with children’s check required or willing to obtain.
• NDIS Worker screening clearance required or willing to obtain.

Responsabilités

• Access the community for shopping, appointments and day-to-day activities.
• Participate in activities such as cooking, art, outdoor activities and excursions.
• Engage in social events and community outings.
• Provide transportation assistance where required.
• Assist with meal preparation and in-home supports.

About the role…

We’re seeking a casual team member to join our wonderful Cairns team, someone who has open availability. With flexibility to adapt to the needs of the individuals we support.

Key responsibilities include:

• Accessing the community for shopping, appointments and day-to-day activities
• Participation in a range of scheduled activities such as cooking, art, outdoor physical activities and excursions
• Engagement in social events
• Transportation assistance where required
• Meal preparation and other simple in-home supports

Your role will go beyond daily care – you will be instrumental in promoting independence, dignity, and choice, while maintaining a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment.
